Martha Fureys’ paintings cover many subjects, portraits, landscapes, still life and abstracts. She is an independent painter who has little formal art education but has been greatly influencet by many fine artist both in Ireland and the USA. Her strongest teacher was her mother Helen who was an artist. As a child Furey spent many hours in galleries and art museums.
Furey’s philosophly for herself is that she likes the freedom to paint at her kitchen table or in her small studio at the cottage she and her husband Tim rent in Carrigtwohill outside of Cork City.
